Our Pacific Yoga Styles
HOT 26
26 postures and 2 breathing exercises done to precise instructions from a skilled teacher. The first part is standing, to build strength, balance and flexibility. The second part is done lying on the mat and includes spine strengthening. This is Ghosh Lineage yoga, familiar if you have tried Bikram. It is extremely effective in improving and maintaining health. The full Hot 26 is 90 minutes. There are 60 minute and 45 minute versions.
A student says:
The first time? Thinking what on earth is this (except not so politely)… BUT I came back again (and again) surprised by how quickly I began to feel stronger – elated, electric as if I’d had a new set of wires installed. There was a strong sense of kinship as we all sweated together.
A teacher says:
In training, I learnt how each posture prepares you for the next – and to value the rhythm of the class. Students like that rhythm and the focus. This yoga is therapeutic as well as interestingly challenging. It is good for those who are prone to injuries. Repetition helps it become a moving meditation as your breath becomes more even.
