The Historic Brewhouse

There’s been a brewhouse in the bend in the river at Finzels Reach for several hundred years. It faces what used to be the teeming centre of Bristol until the Blitz destroyed it. The ruins became Castle Park when peace returned. The barges and the chimneys have gone, taking with them the smell of malt that used to drift through the city centre but the old Brewhouse remains. You can see its Victorian girders in the Cafe Matariki where the giant copper mash tuns used to stand.
